Exercising in Ms. Murray's class!

Ms. Murray's autistic class take time each morning to exercise. In an effort to get the student more excited about this activitiy, Ms. Murray asked Frederick PE teacher Mr. Turner to help out. Using their laptops and Ms. Murray's website, they created a video that the students watch each day.

Rethinking how to teach grammar!

Ms. Graham and Ms. Miller have come up with some very unique and powerful ways to teach grammar. One example, as shown in the video below, involves students tossing a ball with "Words of the Day" written on it. Once caught, the student must name the part of speech for the word under a called finger. Another example involved prepositions. Students were given a preposition, told to create a sentence using the preposition, and then act out the sentence while filming it with their laptops. The results were wonderful. Check out the videos HERE!
